PODCAST – #145 w. Chris Bates – Property and mortgage market update

In this episode, I chat with Chris Bates. Chris is a mate of mine. He’s an ex Financial Planner and Mortgage Broker at Wealthful, which is a company that helps people make smarter property decisions and better mortgage decisions.

We talked about Chris’s take on the current property market and mortgage market today. What do you think of the recent price rises? How people can afford their dream home, some of the mortgage frustrations and mistakes that people make as well as what a mortgage broker actually does and how you can choose one that will deliver it.

Chris Bates is the founder of Wealthful, an Ex-Financial Adviser of 13 years and Mortgage Broker for the past 8 years. Chris guides higher-income young couples and families to make great property and finance decisions. Chris was ranked 9th in MPA top 100 awards in Australia and settled over $180m of mortgages in 2021FY.

I recently came across Ben Nash on LinkedIn and was impressed with his approach and vision to teach others on the... subject of financial freedom and creating wealth.So I invited Ben and his team to come into our office and share some finance advice with our team which consist of mostly Gen X/Y. I attended a workshop about “investing like a pro” run by Ben Nash from Pivot and found it to be really informative and... inspiring. The advice was easy to follow, yet detailed enough to give me and my partner a good understanding as to the various options available for us to build our wealth through sensibly investing our money in the right way. I would certainly recommend this to friends to help them utilize all the options available as a young person looking for sound financial planning for their future.read more

Went to a workshop presented by these guys. Was a good night. All the information was useful, relatable and not full of... complicated industry jargon. They seemed nice and approachable. Plus they didnt go over board with pushing their services on us. Which was nice.read more

Went to Pivot's 'Invest Like A Pro' workshop this evening presented by Ben Nash. It was fantastic. I'm a complete... beginner when it comes to investing - prior to the class it all seemed like some kind of voodoo; I actually now know specific things I can do to begin investing and specific dollar amounts. So glad I went. I highly recommend.read more
